Conor Harrington was born in Cork, Ireland in 1980 and started to experiment with graffiti when he was 14 before going on to graduate with a degree in fine art aged 22. He moved to London a year ago and his work has been rapturously received. One of the foremost emerging artists of his generation, he says: "I paint the male figure, referring to the masculinity of urban culture. I am interested in the dynamics between opposing elements. Aerosol and oils, abstraction and figuration, concrete and canvas, chaos and control."
